Question.

What is a revocation?

Answer.

This is the process where a charity's registration status is removed. If Revenue Canada believes it has grounds to propose revoking a charity's registration, the charity will be given an opportunity to respond to the Department's concerns before a final decision is taken. It is important to remember that when a charity's registration is revoked, it may have to pay a tax.
