Question.

Are all Non-profits the same?

Answer.

No. While it is true that all non-profits must pursue purposes other than commercial ones and must not provide any income to members, some kinds of non-profits are restricted in the kinds of activities they can undertake. There are two kinds of restrictions: contractual or legislative restrictions, and the general limitations on charities that arise because of the general legal definition of charities.
