Question.

Why is it so difficult for charities to speak out for what they believe?

Answer.

The question of what charities are allowed to speak on is a very important one. Regrettably, the answer is not clear. One of the most confusing areas involves 'advocacy'. In charities law, advocacy is sometimes considered educational, while other times, it is a prohibited political activity.
