Question.

But surely some of this kind of activity is allowed?

Answer.

If an organization's purposes are entirely charitable in that it has no political purpose, it can carry on some political activities. These activities must meet three tests:

  • help the charity achieve its charitable goals,
  • not be partisan in nature, and
  • meet the 10% rule.
